Half Moon Blooming - 12 x 9 inches
The first posture we do in Bikram yoga is Half Moon Pose - warming up our spine in all directions and compressing and stretching alternate sides of the body. We align our hips in one line and our shoulders in one line, opening our chests, opening our hearts... "like a flower petal blooming", a popular phrase known to most practitioners.
Galactic Pigeon - 12 x 9 inches
When I touch my forehead to the sole of my foot, it completes an energetic connection - a swirl of energy moving through my spine and opening my heart.
Standing Bow Fire - 6 x 6 inches
Magic happens when you practice Standing Bow posture. This posture demands equal parts strength and flexibility, as well as balance, focus, and stillness. As the world heats up around you, you must keep breathing and keep cool.
Full Camel - 6 x 6 inches
In this posture, I stretch the whole front size of my body while compressing my spine and reaching for my feet. In the beginning of my practice, I chased this posture. I think it is beautiful and magical. Now, this posture is a check-in for my spine. In Full Camel, I feel expansive, complete, and grounded.
